Preparing for Work

This group meets on Wednesdays between 13.00 and 15.00 pm.

While many courses focus on CVs and developing interview techniques, our Preparing for Work course aslo deals with the many aspects that work and the search for work can bring.

We look at adjusting lifestyles, travel planning, dealing with social situations at work and decoding the often jargon heavy language of job adverts. Also this course deals with not only the attempt to gain employment, but also the subsequent need to keep that job - which can be a job in itself!

Through role playing, exercises, guest speakers, visits and supported work placements, the course aims to confront situations that can arise and place at ease the individual through coping strategies and knowledge.
